  23. What about _cheap_ but extremely fast and easy to use digitizers,
  24. network cards, high-speed serial cards, modems, programming devices
  25. etc.etc. ???

  27. I`d be more than happy about a PCMCIA option for my A4ooo as it would be
  28. easy to change the cards when you need anything else (like after doing some
  29. high-speed 16bit sampling changing the cards and plugging in an Eprommer to
  30. burn some EPROMs - and isn`t that beatiful scene on that tape worth a quick
  31. grab with the digitizer?).

  33. The Interface is 16bits and quite speedy, so it`s no solution the supply a
  34. slow 8bit parallel interface instead.

  36. BTW. These 3 examples above aren`t fictious... and I have some other
  37. interests, too, which would be ideal as PCMCIA expansions, but I only have
  38. one empty slot left and even if some of those pieces could be used via the
  39. parallel port it would be much slower any probably uglier (just think about
  40. plain sampling at high rates without disabling interrupts ?).

  42. My opinion is clear: PCMCIA is great if it would be supported somehow
  43. better, and if people could get info material about how to built compatible
  44. hardware on their own (if interested).
